UK Case Study – Lambert Place, Lewes, Sussex

Our first UK development will be at Lambert Place, in Lewes, West Sussex. It’s a small scheme of only 2 homes, but this project will showcase just how good our development model is, as well as providing evidence of innovation and best value in the development process.

We are looking forward to continuing our involvement with this exciting project through to the construction stage where we will provide site monitoring services in support of our partners.

The development deal

KSD and Lewes DC have agreed a very simple deal based as follows:

  • Lewes DC supplies the land at no cost to KSD
  • KSD supplies the 2 new home at no cost to Lewes DC
  • Lewes DC has 100% nomination rights
  • KSD/Lewes DC enter into a long term lease contract based on a very low rent [about 50% of the local housing allowance]
  • At the end of the lease agreement, Lewes DC/KSD each own 50% equity in the home, which either party can buy out, or the homes can be sold with the sales proceeds split equally between Lewes DC and KSD


We hope to have the scheme completed by the summer of 2014 and we will post regular updates on its progress on this site.


Everyone’s a winner with this deal.

We believe that this model will work across the UK with so many local authorities so keen to make better use of their assets and cut the cost of using hostels and private sector lets and hotels.
